Rabôt Female Portrait Series. Meet Brooke and Gabriela
We’re celebrating female creatives based in Los Angeles who are inspiring to us at RABÔT.
Meet @wisebrooke and @gabriela.forgo.

Brooke - “My name is Brooke Wise, I’m an independent curator based here in Los Angeles, I’m also the founder of Aloha From Hell Film Festival, a short comedy film fest that raises money for Planned Parenthood.”
Gabriela - “My name is Gabriela Forgo, I’m the founder of Clay Ca, an artist run ceramic studio in Los Angeles.
Q: What inspires you about each other?
A: Brooke - “Gabi inspires me in countless ways. Being the owner of such a successful buisness that does so much good for the art community at such a young age, is both inspiring and flat out impressive.”
Gabriela - “As a curator Brooke always pushes to combine both well established artists and up and coming ones. She pushes for experimentation but also in this tasteful yet personal way. Aloha from Hell and her collaborations with Tom of Finland are perfect examples of normalizing and highlighting relatable yet often suppressed sentiments. She’s smart, witty, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable.”
Q: How haha you been uplifted this past year by each other?
A: Brooke - “Gabi is one of the few people I’ve seen during quarantine. We’ve gone on a few drives and walks around the resevoir, and we check in with eachother’s mental health. Having friends that care about you and show it is the ultimate support system.”
Gabriela - “We have always had a very honest and open friendship. I think during the pandemic being able to have open conversations was so vital. Also informing one another of ways to grow while also being supportive.”
